My Right Bumper When Pressed Will Stay Activate For Sometime Why Nintendo Gamecube Controller

While playing smash bros. I use a GameCube controller and when the right bumper is pressed the game will sense that the button is still being pressed and will stay in shield. This doesn’t happen to other controllers. I’m wondering if the sensors are dirty or not. Should I look into getting a new controller?

Button is sticking most likely because of dirt and dust. Take apart and clean it.
