A day, I was playing with my PS3, suddenly my cousin fell over it, and the HDMI Cable broken but the plug in side kept in PS3. When I removed it and changed the cable. My PS3 worked without any problems. When I bought a new CD, I inserted it. The PS3 didn’t read it, i changed the game but still the same. I thought that the problem from not cleaning it. I cleaned it, I inserted the Game, it shows me the game but when I click to play it. It show me an error code but I forgot to to copy it and now even I do the same. It doesn’t show me the cd to copy the code. Please help!! Thanks

i would start by trying a DVD, and a Bluray. if it reads one, but not the other, i can guarantee replacing the Laser module will fix it. if both aren’t working, there is a potential of drive damage. at that point, you would in order;

  1. Updating the device using sonys support website on reloading your software. -Format your HDD, and reload the PS3 UPDATE file into the HDD
  2. realigning the drive.
  3. replacing the laser module
  4. drive replacement.
  5. motherboard failure. These are in order from least expensive, to most expensive. Procedures for these should be easily found in this website’s repair guides. i hope this helps.
