A day, I was playing with my PS3, suddenly my cousin fell over it, and the HDMI Cable broken but the plug in side kept in PS3. When I removed it and changed the cable. My PS3 worked without any problems. When I bought a new CD, I inserted it. The PS3 didn’t read it, i changed the game but still the same. I thought that the problem from not cleaning it. I cleaned it, I inserted the Game, it shows me the game but when I click to play it. It show me an error code but I forgot to to copy it and now even I do the same. It doesn’t show me the cd to copy the code. Please help!! Thanks
i would start by trying a DVD, and a Bluray. if it reads one, but not the other, i can guarantee replacing the Laser module will fix it. if both aren’t working, there is a potential of drive damage. at that point, you would in order;
- Updating the device using sonys support website on reloading your software. -Format your HDD, and reload the PS3 UPDATE file into the HDD
- realigning the drive.
- replacing the laser module
- drive replacement.
- motherboard failure. These are in order from least expensive, to most expensive. Procedures for these should be easily found in this website’s repair guides. i hope this helps.
