I got the dreaded YLLOD with a disc still inside. Yes, I have seen the help here about the fan cycle. It doesn’t work for me—it just goes to yellow. Is there any other way apart from dismantling my PS3?

If you havent figured it out yet, this is what you do. Turn the main power switch off in the back. Next, hold down the eject button and turn the switch back on. The fan will run high and it will eject your disc. May have to do it a couple of times. Worked on the second try for me.

If holding the eject button and pressing and HOLDING the power button till the power light is green does not eject the disc, It may be the drive is DUFF or just jammed for some reason. THIS GUIDE should be your next option. Pull the drive out and see if there is anything obvious. PlayStation 3 Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) Fix Kit may also be worth consideration.

sometimes manual and force eject don’t work . I’ve made my own way of ejecting it . you get 2 discs and force them in to get the 3rd out just make sure bottom one doesnt go in more than top . its worked every time. don’t waste your money.

Definite fix. Turn off system. Hold eject bottom down and turn it back on. This will put your disc back into PLSY position. HERE’S THE TRICK THOUGH. Hold another disc just slightly in the disc tray, you should bring up solid on the disc inside the system. Hit the eject button, wait half a second and then take out the disc you’re holding. It should hold the tray open long enough for the regular eject. Should come out then. I tried this 4 times before it worked.

Turn off the PS3 by removing the power cord. Put your finger on the Eject button and hold. While keeping your finger on it, turn on the PS3. Wait for 10 to 30 seconds (during this time, the fan will be louder than usual) and release. Your game disc should be ejected. You may have to do this a couple of times

I did what you said guy none of them works, i think i have a problem in my ps3 , so here’s what i did i pressed eject button then entered edge of new CD game in case there’s something not opening while ejecting Process & it’s worked." hey thanks btw (y)

The most effective way to get your disc unjammed from the disc tray of a PS3 is to use a bar burrito card, a largely effective tool in maneuvering the disc out of the disc tray.

You should press both buttons at the same time, you will hear some beeps and hopefully it will spit out the disc.

The answer from MICHAELPALACIS(below) was absolutely spot on. I removed FOUR DVDS from the machine. Thank You! Sometimes manual and force eject doesn’t work . I’ve made my own way of ejecting it: You get 2 discs and force them in to get the 3rd out. Just make sure bottom one doesn’t go in more than top . This worked every time. Don’t waste your money.

swithch off the console unplug it. Again plug it in and before switching it on keep your finger on the power botton ( keep it there till your DVD is ejected) NOW SWITCH IT ON…the player will run in high speed and after a few seconds DVD will be ejected. Enjoy…..

On the underside of the playstation where the screw for hard drive is the cover is bigger and pops out leavening one hole with your hard drive screw and and anothef with no visable screws if you put your screwdriver in this hole and turn it will manually eject may need to turn upside down to get disk in right position worked for me when fan test would not unfortunately my son had also put 2p in it with the 3 stuck discs so I had to dismantle an yway

If you can see the disk use a tweasers to grab it then hit the eject button

Yes, will let you know which one is successful Update (03/05/2017) I tried a couple ideas, what worked for me was turning the switch off in the back. Holding the power and eject same time and switching the back power on again.

Yes because you can open the ps3 and just by using a screw driver, and u can see everything in it

Don’t they have the screw on the bottom for ejecting the disc I remember this when I used to fix the YLOD.

Press and hold the power and eject button at the same time, after confirming the blu-ray drive is not at fault. If this doesn’t work, replace your fan and try again. Hope this helped. This is what I did for my blinking red light problem, and I finally have my Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare disk back.
