Chosen Solution

I’ve had my pstv for about 3 years didn’t use it for about 6 months when I pulled it back out I tried connecting my controller to the back and it wouldn’t turn on my controller wasn’t connecting I tried others controllers same thing which leads me to believe its the USB port it may be damaged because nothing seems to connect/power on when I plug my usb in and just trying to see how I can fix it

It might be just that. but have you tried connecting a usb hub then your controller? if it doesn’t work then, then its the usb port on your pstv

Hi, I finally found a solution. PROBLEM: my modded PSTV USB port was not giving any sign of life anymore. I tried every single method of connecting a PS3 or PS4 controller, nothing. The port was not charging controllers, so it seemed dead. Some threads pointed to insufficient power being the issue. I found my original PSTV power unit, but still that did not solve the problem. My PSTV being hacked, I did not want to got through the pain of resetting everything to factory standards and reinstalling everything. SOLUTION: I connected a PS3 controller via Y-cable to a USB power unit and to the PSTV. It worked! Then I could also pair my PS4 controller. All set!
