After a few minutes the screen goes black but still has sound. The little red light that shows the tv is turned on goes black also. Turn it off and back on it fixes itself for a few minutes then same again. Anyone any ideas? Thanks
@emmaloby you want to go ahead and turn your TV on. Once the screen turns back, in a darkened room, shine a flashlight beam at an angel against the screen. See if you can make out shapes and silhouettes. If you do, you know it is the backlight that is an issue. Most common error will be a bad power board or a bad backlight array. If you cannot make out any shapes etc. it could be a bad main board as well as a bad t-con board etc. You will then have to remove the back cover from your TV and take a look at the aforementioned boards. You will at minimum have a multimeter to check the boards so we can narrow things down. You can always post some pictures of the boards with your question so that we can see what you see.
